Hi Addie!
You can have it probed, which is probably the most common way. It stresses the snake out and if done improperly can result in serious injury to the organs... So get an expert to do it! There are also DNA tests that some vets do. Less stressful i guess but a lot more expensive.
According to some websites a method should be to compare the tails, because of differences in their shape between genders. However is it true for all species and is it reliable?
